The lens cap took the full brunt of the fall and it broke into about 7 pieces, all still attached to the front ring of the lens hood. So I ended up buying a replacement. As for the lens, man, mine seems to be built like a tank. Two drops and still performs like an all star. Sharp at all stops. I use it for events, event close ups. At 70-200 is quite versatile.FelixGPhotohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01247086995517300518noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7541649726739665488.post-86877093154924882612015-05-17T02:15:06.436-07:002015-05-17T02:15:06.436-07:00Awesome, thanks for the answer. I still have the warranty, might try to service it. What kind of shots do you like to take with this lens?Ahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12135808838602029448noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7541649726739665488.post-54178803274859325092015-05-16T15:13:20.859-07:002015-05-16T15:13:20.859-07:00I haven't experienced any issues with my 70-20...I haven't experienced any issues with my 70-200. It's a little soft at F/4 but nothing that discourages me from using it wide open. I always get excellent results from it!FelixGPhotohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01247086995517300518noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7541649726739665488.post-89390210305540048862015-05-16T08:50:37.841-07:002015-05-16T08:50:37.841-07:00Hi, I just bought a used 70-200 with the front cap...Hi, I just bought a used 70-200 with the front cap scratched but body no signs of scratches... I think it's been dropped, but I can't tell. 70mm at f/4 is quite soft, I'm wondering if your lens was worse for wear after the drop? Any issues with misalignment or AF? Is your lens at 70mm f/4 unusually soft too? Thanks for any insight.Ahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12135808838602029448noreply@blogger.com
